Maison de Village
Mirabeau, France
2 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom (Ideally Sleeps up to 6)

Mirabeau is a beautiful and small Provençal village ideally located 20 kilometers northeast of Aix-en-Provence. This historic town has breathtaking views of the countryside, local vineyards, the Durrance River and the Luberon Hills. Like many classic hilltop villages, a lovely château and public forest crowns the hill and below are marvelous and authentic old buildings, narrow streets and stone staircases, connecting them. Within Mirabeau's ancient outer walls is this charming maison de village, which also has wonderful western view and is bordered on two sides by other houses of similar style. Dating from 1456, this delightful hillside house has two entrances, as a tiny street curves down past it, and is five stories with ostensibly one room per floor. It also has the original stone staircase. The owners completely renovated the property with great care adding modern conveniences while keeping the spirit and ambiance of their 15th century house. It is simply and very comfortably furnished with colorful Provençal fabrics and is ideal for two couples or a family. The home is perfectly located as a base for day trips throughout Provence, including the lower Alps to the east, Aix, Marseilles and the Mediterranean to the south, Avignon, Arles and Orange to the west, and all the Luberon hills to the immediate north.
