Blue Ruin is a lovely property situated right in town. Nestled into
lush vegetation at the edge of the bay and hidden behind a blue wall,
the house is entered through a wooden door that opens into a
plant-filled courtyard. Straight ahead is the large and very nicely
decorated living room with a seating area and dining alcove. Off it are
a bar room and the master bedroom. Three other bedrooms are down a
hallway accessed via the courtyard. French doors in the living room
open to a very pretty covered porch with comfy sitting and dining
areas. It’s really more like an outdoor living room. From there steps
lead down to a terrace and the saltwater pool. Below are a long dock
and a bunkhouse, which has a separate entrance off the street.
The view across the bay to Eleuthera is beautiful, especially at
sunset, and to the right is the charming waterfront and town dock. It’s
always fun to bob in the pool and watch boats coming and going. Blue
Ruin’s location makes it perfect for walking along Bay Street and to
two of the island’s best restaurants at The Rock House and The Landing.
Another great feature is that guests have a temporary membership at
Coral Sands Hotel, which is right on the island’s famous pale, coral
pink sand beach. Membership includes signing for meals and drinks and
use of the beach facilities, tennis court and the
large, fresh
water heated lagoon pool. All of this makes Blue Ruin an ideal house
for a family.
Main House
- Living room with
sitting and dining areas, a large window overlooking the harbor, a
fireplace and French doors opening to the covered porch. Another door
opens to the courtyard.
- Bar room with a TV and water view
- Kitchen with a door onto the front courtyard
- Master bedroom with a king-size four-poster bed
and bathroom with a tub/shower. A door in the bathroom opens into the
below bedroom.
- Bedroom with twin beds, bathroom en suite with
a shower and a door into the below bedroom’s bathroom
- Bedroom with a king-size bed, bathroom with a
tub/shower and a door into the below bedroom’s bathroom.
- Bedroom with four-poster twin beds, bathroom
with a tub/shower and two fold out beds. This bedroom can only be
accessed through the above bedroom or from the terrace.

Two single beds, bathroom, galley kitchen area

Amenities
Membership at Coral Sands, air-conditioning and ceiling fan in each
bedroom, cable and satellite TV, stereo, CD/DVD Players and an

Staff
The very nice housekeeper, Eartha, works six days weekly as does
the gardener, who waters plants and takes care of the swimming pool
