MIDDLE CAY Off North Eleuthera, Bahamas 4 Bedrooms with 4 Bathrooms (Sleeps 8 - 9) Middle Cay, located just 1,000 yards from North Eleuthera and 1¼ miles from Harbour Island, is the Bahamas newest private retreat. Available now for rent, this two-acre isle is surrounded by crystal blue water, which is absolutely sublime. The main house sits on a large lawn dotted with palm trees and has fabulous views in every direction. It was completely renovated by the owners, who created a very open beach house with cool tile floors and interiors that are casual and airy in feeling yet furnished with great style. This wonderful cay has everything one would want of a tropical paradise – privacy, a wide sand beach with comfortable lounge chairs, oversized umbrellas and a cabana with a bar, table and chairs. There is also a chlorine-free freshwater pool overlooking the bay, a 50’ dock and even a charming lighthouse. Making Middle Cay even more idyllic is that the rate includes meals so guests really do not need to worry about anything other than having fun. The very nice and professional couple who manage Middle Cay live at one end of the property but they will move off island for guests wishing total privacy! The rental price includes three meals daily, nightly turndown service, concierge services, all soft drinks and a bottle of wine for dinner. There is a 27' Mako with captain for basic transportation to and from Eleuthera and Harbour Island, bay tours, snorkeling and visiting other beaches. There are also a 17' Vanguard sailboat, gear for snorkeling and fishing, water skis, boogey boards and a raft for towing. Staff: Property managers, Dan (boat captain/service) and his wife Susan (chef/service), housekeeper and gardener/general labor. Activities: Whether one is in the mood for a rejuvenating spa treatment or a more energetic activity, the staff will help make it happen. The surrounding area is famous for its pink sand beaches, deep sea and bone fishing and the best coral reefs and wrecks for diving in the Bahamas. Boogey board on beach swells, catch a wave on Eleuthera's Surfer's Beach or go over to Harbour Island and rent jet skis, boats, bicycles or golf carts to tour this charming island, which also has some good and fun restaurants. To make one's visit even more memorable, the staff can arrange include private fireworks displays, lunch delivered to a secluded beach and a calypso band playing just for you on the beach as well as helicopter and sea plane charters and day trips to Nassau for golf.
Notes: The cay managers live in a cottage at the south end of
the island - away from the main house and pool, ensuring guests'
privacy. Middle Cay is available with a minimum three day
rental except during Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year when
a minimum of seven to ten days is required. Additional charges may apply for specialty wines and liquors, additional boat fuel for extended excursions, rentals arranged via outside vendors and special event requests/items. |
