Frenchmans Lookout, one of Tortola’s best properties, is on a small cay connected to West End by a charming bridge. Electronic security gates lead to this completely private estate, which is surrounded by mature and lush tropical foliage. Originally an infamous pirates' lookout, Frenchmans Lookout offers sweeping 300-degree views over Sir Francis Drake Channel of turquoise water and some 12 islands and cays. Because of its location, sultry and silky tradewinds are constant and the sight of passing sail and motor boats adds to the sublime visuals. Two of the islands prettiest beaches, Smuggler’s Cove and Long Bay Beach are about 10 minutes away by car. There are also shops and restaurants nearby.

This Caribbean plantation-style house has been completely renovated and the results are an absolutely wonderful combination of grace and great style. All the large rooms on both floors, including the bathrooms, have high ceilings and mahogany French doors, which open onto a wide wraparound verandah with hammocks, seating areas and water views. Throughout the house are Mexican saltillo tiles, seagrass mats, antiques and fine art. Furnishings are sumptuous and comfy and all five of the romantic bedrooms have air-conditioning. Set in a lovely garden, and also overlooking the water, is an L-shaped 25' x 50' pool with a shallow area for small children. Adjoining it is a very fun gazebo with a large gas barbecue, fridge and a wet bar with seating. Also within the garden is a 6 person hot tub overlooking the harbor and a children’s play area. Down a stone path is a separate cottage with a state-of-the-art gym and game room.

Rental of Frenchmans Lookout includes breakfast 6 days a week and one full day on the house's power boat. When bringing this marvelous property back to life, no expense was spared. And to make arrival and departure totally painless, guests can charter the owner's Lear Jet!

Rental includes freshly-prepared breakfast with table service 6 days a week, one full day on the house's 35-foot power boat with its seasoned captain, security gates and alarm system, A/C in all bedrooms, cable TV, DVD/CD player, VCR, radio, movie and music collections, books, games, gas grill, hair dryers, safes for valuables, mini-fridge on the upper deck; 4 hammocks, children's toys and outdoor play area, baby crib; dishwasher, snorkel gear, a separate staff workspace and transfers to and from the airport or ferry dock. The house also has Skype so guests can call around the world at no charge.
