Hakuna Matata is a sensational and very private gated villa set on a hillside above the incredible blue waters of Cinnamon Bay on lush St. John. Located near the island’s famous beautiful beaches as well as the charming town of Cruz Bay, the house has breathtaking views of Jost van Dyke, Sir Francis Drake’s passage and Tortola. Its 13-foot carved mahogany front door opens into a garden courtyard with fountains, Italian tiles and tropical plants. Old-world ambience is everywhere. 

On the main level of this impressive house are the Great Room, kitchen, covered and open terraces and one of the bedrooms. Two more bedrooms are connected by a covered walkway on the upper level, which is reached by a stairway in the courtyard. From the main terrace a curving stone staircase leads down to the fourth bedroom on the lower level. Also on this level are another large terrace, a freeform 15' x 45' heated pool, hot tub and a kiddy pool. Nearby is a natural boulder rock formation with a waterfall cascading into a fishpond. 

Built on three floors, Hakuna Matata's four bedroom suites are spacious, air-conditioned and each has a private terrace. Native stonework, classical pillars, beamed ceilings and a wonderful décor full of antiques and objets from around the world add to its fabulous style. This is one of St. John's most sumptuous villas and is first-class in every detail. It's also on one of the Caribbean's most beautiful islands, two-thirds of which is a national park

Notes

Distances
About 20 minutes to either Cruz Bay (the tiny capital) or Coral Bay on the other side of the island. Beaches are also about 20 minutes. A quicker and more "exciting" route (the road is steep with very sharp turns) is the road from the house, which comes out on the North Shore road at Cinnamon Bay. From Red Hook on St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, is 20 minutes by hourly ferry. There is also a private water taxi.
