St. Bernard's Hill House offers serene seclusion in a very private, lush setting hidden behind an electronic gate. Its lofty hilltop location has a fantastic 300° view of the Virgin Islands and miles and miles of azure sea and sky. Cool tradewinds constantly waft through the 8 acres of tropical landscaping full of colorful bougainvillea, bird of paradise, tall palms and sea almond trees and across the generous verandahs. This beautiful property consists of four gingerbread-trimmed pavilions and all of the air-conditioned bedrooms open to a verandah and are well situated for maximum privacy and water views. Arched doorways in the Main Pavilion open out to a wonderful deep verandah on three sides that overlooks the Caribbean and the Atlantic. On the south side of this pavilion are a small manicured lawn and a unique terrace with views of yachts below in Sopers Hole. A 18’ x 25’ infinity edge pool, which is heated,  and tiled sun deck overlook Tortola's Long Bay Beach, Smugglers Cove and the salt pond, where pink flamingos are occasionally spotted. Just off the deck is a shaded alcove sitting area with a mini-fridge and a bathroom with a shower.

From the main entrance of the Main Pavilion, a walkway meanders through lovely gardens to the North Cottage, tucked just far enough away from the Main Pavilion. The Double Cottage is adjacent to the Main Pavilion. With its interior hallway, it’s perfect for parents and small children. Both emboia-wood verandahs are connected at the front of Double Cottage for easy access to both suites. Next door is the charming South Cottage.

Guests are very well cared for by the house's gracious and attentive staff. The chef is ready to prepare and serve a selection of sumptuous meals, which are included in the rental rates. There is also a captain for a full-day's trip for 8 people (max) to and from Jost Van Dyke, BVI, on the house's powerboat, a 56-foot Viking Sport Cruiser. Enjoy a glorious day of snorkeling, fishing, and sightseeing in beautiful warm, clear waters! St. Bernard’s Hill House is fantastic from sunrise to sunset and into the balmy island night with its sparkling canopy of stars overhead.
